Catholic Voter Guides

Updated: Oct 22, 2020

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) releases a document before each presidential election to help Catholics prepare to vote. The document is called "Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship" and can be found here. It lists 47 issues that Catholics should consider when they vote.

This year a group of Catholic theologians and church ministers took that document and applied the 47 issues to the public positions of Joe Biden and Donald Trump- agree, disagree or undecided- along with the sources for their determination (p.s. I got it wrong in our prayer today- the Bishops did not write this voter guide- they wrote the document this guide is based on!)

I found it a helpful guide- if for no other reason than to clarify for myself what I DO believe regarding the issues and who best embraces the fullness of Catholic justice and morality. For your consideration and learning....
