ADVENT RETREAT 2023
As we continue our sacred journey of Advent, we hear God's Word asking us to "Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord". Each week of Advent (4) we will by taking on a spiritual task to do just that. Some spiritual, some physical, all of them about readying our hearts and attitudes to receive Jesus this Christmas. Here is the overview...

Synopsis of Week 3
Each day this week you will write and send a short note card to someone who blesses your life. Simply to say, Thank You. Someone near or far, close or distant, doesn't matter. It's a small but touching way to spread the joy of this season and do something that will put a smile on the face of another. It's what disciples do!
NOT A CHRISTMAS CARD! Not a text or email. The notes need to be sent through the mail (y'know, with a stamp!) and about only one thing: gratitude. Monday thru Friday. One note a day.
Another way we can help others through our Vincentian Family is through a donation to DePaul International. We have helped them before and continue to support their humanitarian efforts (more info at the link below).
We will continue our support until January 1st, 2023 when our portal will close and all funds will be delivered.

So this week, WEEK 2 in our advent plan we call upon the intercession of our Blessed Mother.
We continue our preparation, but this time not our own hearts, but instead someone else’s (as she did). Join us in an act of charity and kindness on behalf of someone or someone’s who are in need. Contact your local SVDP Society, Catholic Charities or your own parish for ideas. Volunteer at a local food bank or shelter, donate an afternoon helping to sort clothes at your local shelter or Goodwill, Give Blood, -- whatever. You decide. Call a friend, and do it together?!

Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord
Each day this week we highlight a special devotion/prayer to someone instrumental in the birth of Jesus. Set aside 3 minutes at the beginning or end of your day and quietly call upon him/her in prayer.
