Almsgiving
Our TGM Lenten Almsgiving campaign this year is once again helping the poor in Kenya, Africa.
EDUCATION
The community memebers of Kabula,Kenya are seeking to build a preschool to 12th grade school, St. Vincent de Paul School, in order to help their children stay local and receive a quality, Catholic education.
THE NEED
Kabula, Kenya is home to about 1.5 million people who are mostly low-income and love by subsistence farming.
Currently, the nearest school is an hour away on foot and the path to school is along treacherous roads. Parents must walk with younger children, meaning they have less time to work and provide for their household. With these challenges, many students delay going to school or drop out later on.
A local, Catholic school would allow the community to have a safe place to educate their students in an educational environment that values and teaches the Catholic faith.
THE PLAN
Our Almsgiving drive this year will raise money to build the St. Vincent De Paul School, a new building that will accomodate 210 students in seven classrooms, offices, and a cafeteria.
This school will be life altering for our brothers and sisters in Christ in the Kenya. You can see the full plan below.
